Corner Townhouse was originally started by Olivia. She was a mobile beautician visiting customer’s homes to provide them with services. In 2024, she decided to open a salon and to allow self-employed beauticians to rent chairs or rooms (depending on the services they were offering). When the salon opened, she also had employees of her own. Added to that, the salon also includes sunbeds and allows the purchasing of various beauty products whilst in the salon.
Olivia quickly recognised that recording information about all of these things on paper, was a difficult and messy task. She set about finding a digital way to improve things and, via a referral, she approached CORE Software Solutions.
Olivia’s goals were quite simple. She wanted to make sure that she was able to report financially on how the business was doing. She also wanted to be able to make bookings from wherever she was and for her colleagues to know at all times what bookings were in place.
Challenges

Corner Townhouse initially approached CORE Software after a referral from another customer. The owner was in the process of purchasing a new shop for her beauty services and was planning on expanding the business. Previously she had been using a paper-based method of booking customer appointments but now the business and customer base was growing, juggling more customers and more team members became increasingly difficult and very stressful. Appointments were getting missed or double-booked, customer were just turning up for the team members who were self employed and the receptionist hadn’t got a clue who they were for. Commission payments were all over the place due the different recording methods of appointments the owner wasn’t getting paid her percentage, customer were getting use of sunbeds for nothing as the minutes wasn’t being recorded properly, these issues were increasing the busier the salon got.
Solutions
Using our CORE Software platform, we built a web-based Beauty Management System that allowed their employees (and self-employed technicians) to track all appointments booked for customers for all of their different services more effectively. They are now able to capture information at the salon, but also when receiving calls when at home or other locations.

Store
The team were provided with a new method of storing the data for their customers. This was a simple, web-based platform that allowed them to very quickly add information about appointments. And to track the status of any booking. They could even do this on mobiles.
Organise
CORE was designed to provide proper reporting to allow the manager to understand what was being sold and for who and what areas needed improving. The system also allowed them to set permissions so that stylists could ONLY see their own customers and bookings.
Improve
Once their old solution had been replaced, we set about helping them to improve their booking processes. Improving management of information creating segregations to allow managers to give stylists confidence that their customers were protected.
Summary
Olivia has grand plans for the salon and for the CORE platform. She intends to add many more functions of her business onto the platform, to allow her to book things like employee holidays and building maintenance. Olivia said after launch that the system had made her life so much easier as well as allowing her to grow the business and develop new services.
Corner Townhouse has gone from strength to strength since the system was launched. They now have more beauticians and customers than ever before, whilst still retaining the abiltiy to run the business efficiently and easily!
